Telle Tire Is Expanding in St. Louis — Again

Dec. 27, 2017

Telle Tire & Auto Service Inc. will begin 2018 in much the same way the St. Louis-area tire dealership started 2017 — by acquiring another business in its market.

Aaron Telle, CEO and president of Telle Tire, says his business will acquire Shamel Auto & Tire in Bridgeton, Mo. on Jan. 2, 2018. This will give Telle Tire seven locations in the greater St. Louis region.

Telle says, "The values and culture of Shamel Tire align with our company and we believe this will be a great fit in our organization.”

This is Telle Tire's fourth acquisition in two years, and the company is continuing its plans to acquire two-to-four locations each year for the next 10 years. And, Telle says he's ready to extend that search outside the St. Louis market, and will "seek out strategic opportunities in the Midwest for further expansion."

"We are a great alternative to the big out of town chains looking to acquire small family businesses. We are committed to the culture of these stores and continuing the same great traditions that these long-time family businesses have produced over the years," Telle says.

Richard Shamel, the founder of Shamel Auto & Tire, has more than 40 years in the tire and automotive industry. With existing employees as the backbone of the Bridgeton operation, he is confident his customers will continue to receive great personalized service and benefit further from the efficiencies and expertise Telle Tire has to offer.
