Sears Will Turn to Amazon for DieHard Tire Sales in 2018

Dec. 19, 2017

Beginning in early 2018 Sears Holdings Corp. will offer its DieHard-brand tires and automotive batteries on Amazon.com.

The company began its roll out of products on the mega online retailer Dec. 14, 2017, when it started selling DieHard jump starters, battery chargers and maintainers at www.amazon.com/diehard.

"DieHard is America's most trusted and preferred automotive battery brand and the collaboration with Amazon makes it easier for millions to shop the brand," says Tom Park, president of the Kenmore, Craftsman and DieHard brands for Sears. "As we have previously stated, we want to diversify the revenue streams of our iconic brands and launching on Amazon.com will significantly expand the distribution and availability of the DieHard brand in the U.S., building on the success of our recent Kenmore appliances launch on Amazon.com."

Modern Tire Dealer caught up with Park, as well as Jon Otterberg, the president of Sears Auto Centers since April, to talk about the company's gameplan. (It likely includes more DieHard-branded stores, and more DieHard tires.) Read about it here:DieHard Auto Centers Update: Expect More DieHard Branded Stores and Tires
