Don Helker, vice president of sales and marketing for Del-Nat Tire Corp., is leaving the Memphis, Tenn.-based company. Helker says he wants to spend more time with his family in Greenwood, South Carolina.
The 35-year industry veteran isn't ready to retire just yet, however. Although some of his time will be taken up helping his son and daughter with their businesses, he still has carbon black in his blood.
"What I'd really like to do is be an agent or a representative for a tire company, and maybe broker some tires," he says.
Helker, 57, began his tire industry career in 1965 with the Kelly-Springfield Tire Co.
