Cooper Previews Discoverer True North Tire

Oct. 31, 2017

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is showcasing its Cooper Discoverer True North passenger tire in its booth (#43019) at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas beginning today and running through Nov. 3.

The tire will be available in 17 passenger car sizes in fall 2018. Cooper says it will start taking orders for the tire this coming spring.

The Discoverer True North is designed to tackle snow and slush on cold winter roads. It maintains a tight grip on the road in cold weather conditions, the company says, and features a pliable tread compound that remains flexible when the temperature drops for optimum control and a smooth, quiet and comfortable ride.

“The Discoverer True North wasn’t simply designed with consumers in mind, experienced winter drivers offered input and insights throughout its development process,” says Scott Jamieson, Cooper’s director of product management for North America. “The result is a tire that’s made to perform, doesn’t give up touring tire responsiveness for great winter grip and ensures drivers have confidence on the road through the unpredictable weather conditions that come with winter driving.”

The tire has earned Cooper’s Weather-Master certification. “This means the Discoverer True North offers superior performance in winter driving conditions while maintaining a quiet, comfortable ride and maximum control,” Jamieson adds.
