GRI Debuts Solid Forklift Tire With Large Tread Width

Oct. 16, 2017

Global Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd. (GRI) has released a wide solid industrial forklift tire designed to provide high load-carrying capacity, extensive tire life and tire stability.

The Sri Lankan company says the new Globestar WT was developed to be one of the widest tires in the industry.

Features include a tread compound made of high quality raw material, including Sri Lankan natural rubber, to provide high abrasion resistance and extensive durability. The new tire also features low heat build-up and high chipping and chunking resistance. The Globestar WT also provides effective cushioning to both the driver and the machine, according to the company.

The unique design of the Globestar WT tread adds increased traction in a wide variety of surface conditions. The design also supports increased stability. GRI says read lug depth, lug gaps, circumferential lateral grooves and other design features ensure the tire runs with minimum noise and outstanding lateral guidance.

The tread width of the Globestar WT provides higher contact area and lower tire distortion when turning and in sharp cornering situations. By increaseing the overall tread-width of the tire, GRI says the tire adds steadiness in standard material handling applications.
