Groupe Michelin's new Diamaris light truck tire will be fitted as original equipment on the upscale BMW X5 sport utility vehicle in the United States.
The V-rated tire also is a replacement option for the X5, according to John Womble, Michelin North America Inc. manager of new high-performance products. "It will fit other similar vehicles," he says.
The Diamaris comes in a front size of 255/50R19 and a back size of 285/45R19.
In addition, Michelin plans to import three sizes of its recently introduced Synchrone SUV tire: 205/80R16, which will be T-rated; plus H-rated sizes, 235/70R16 and 255/55R18. The Synchrone replaces the Michelin XPC 4x4, which will be phased out.
