Bridgestone Americas Will Have a New Chairman in 2018

Promotions within Bridgestone Corp. that will take effect Jan. 1, 2018, will more closely align the leadership of the company’s operations in Europe and the Americas.

Paolo Ferrari, who serves as CEO, president and chief operating officer of Bridgestone Europe will also serve as chairman of Bridgestone Americas Inc.

Thomas Higgins, president of the U.S. and Canada consumer tire sales division for Bridgestone Americas, will take on the additional role of chairman of Bridgestone Europe.

Those two positions as chairman have both been filled by Eduardo Minardi. Minardi is retiring from his executive officer roles at the end of 2017.

Ferrari and Gordon Knapp, CEO and president of Bridgestone Americas, were both promoted to senior vice president and executive officers of Bridgestone Corp. Higgins was promoted to vice president and senior officer of Bridgestone Corp.

All of the moves and promotions are effective in 2018.
