Thomas Womble Is the New CEO of Liberty Tire Recycling

Sept. 5, 2017

Thomas Womble is taking over the office of CEO at Liberty Tire Recycling LLC.

Womble, who has worked for Liberty since 2001, succeeds Scott Whitney, who joined the company's board and was appointed CEO in June 2015. Womble previously served as Liberty's chief operating officer and oversaw day-to-day operations for 28 manufacturing sites in eight regions throughout the U.S. and Canada. As CEO, he will lead the company’s next phase of growth.

“Thomas Womble is a veteran Liberty Tire Recycling executive and highly-experienced waste services professional," says Nils Larsen, chairman of the board of directors for Liberty Tire Recycling. "He understands the complexities of our business and the value proposition we bring to the marketplace – to remove millions of scrap tires from the waste stream, recycle them and transform them into sustainable products that provide smart solutions for communities and organizations of all kinds. His broad and deep industry experience combined with his thorough knowledge of our operations make him the perfect person to lead Liberty Tire Recycling into our next chapter.”

Whitney says, “It was my privilege to have the opportunity to lead such a great organization over the past two years. I am confident that Liberty Tire will have continued success under Thomas’ leadership.”

“Scott served Liberty Tire Recycling well, providing a steady hand during a time of change and adjustment for the company,” says Larsen. “He ends his tenure as CEO with the company in a better position to take advantage of the many opportunities before us, and we are grateful for his service to Liberty Tire.”
