Simple Tire Helps Give a Truck to a Veteran

Dec. 17, 2018

Simple Tire LLC has partnered with the Wounded Warrior Family Support organization since 2016. And on Veterans Day 2018, the online tire retailer was part of a grand giveaway. A three-time recipient of the Purple Heart was presented a 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor. Each year Wounded Warriors Family Support hits the road for what it calls the High Five Tour. The group travels the country for months in a mobility-equipped vehicle and thanks Americans for their support of the group and U.S. military families. At the end of the tour, the group gives away its High Five vehicle to a veteran.

This year, Simple Tire sponsored the vehicle, which was awarded to Scott West, a U.S. Army veteran.

The 2018 High Five Tour Raptor was converted for someone who uses a wheelchair. It's equipped with two stowaway transfer seats, wheelchair crane, and a hydraulic bed cover.

“When the U.S. goes to war, so do the families of U.S. military men and women," says Andy Chalofsky, Simple Tire co-founder and CEO. "They also take on huge burdens that can cause enduring stress and trauma, especially when a family member returns wounded or is killed while serving. We are honored to have the opportunity to help veterans and their families in any way we can and are proud to be a main sponsor of the High Five Tour over the years.”

Since its partnership with the veterans organization, Simple Tire has donated a portion of its Veterans Day sales to the group. The company says each year it has doubled its donation to provide more resources for military families.

“The continued support from Simple Tire throughout the years has been amazing and we truly value our partnership,” says Col. John Folsom, founder and president of Wounded Warriors Family Support. “Each of their donations makes a true impact in the lives of military families who have had a member wounded or killed while serving.”
