Troy Kline Adds Europe to His Duties at Maxam Tire

Nov. 6, 2018

Troy Kline has added another region of the world to his responsibilities at Maxam Tire International Ltd. Kline will continue as president of Maxam in North America, but also will oversee the company's European operations.

Kline's move up the ladder comes as Martin West, president of Maxam's global business, retired at the end of October 2018.

In a letter to customers, Maxam Chairman and CEO Robert Sherkin, wrote, "We wish to sincerely thank Martin for his impact to our business and culture; his leadership contributions are both numerous and distinguished."

Beginning in 2010 West led the introduction fo Sailun Group's passenger and truck, bus radial tire portfolio in Europe, building a network of distributors into sales that grew into a "considerable segment" of Sailun Group's worldwide business. As the Sailun brand grew, he led the development and marketing of new tires, including the Sailun Atrezzo Eco and Sailun Atrezzo Elite. In 2016 he became president of Maxam Global.

Sherkin wrote, "His leadership has resulted in significantly enhanced recognition for the Maxam brand in numerous sectors: especially the mining and agricultural industries."

Though Maxam isn't naming Kline to West's same title, the company says Kline is a founding leader of the company's specialty tire business.

He has more than 18 years of specialty tire experience at Galaxy, GPX, MITL and Trelleborg. Sherkin said Kline "has consistently built enterprise value, customer trust and the Maxam brand during his tenure. Troy is unwaveringly focused on delivering meaningful customer relationships, exceptional customer experience and unsurpassed product solutions. In addition, Troy has consistently built world class professional customer teams to enhance Maxam's position in the marketplace."

Kline is taking over strategic leadership and operational responsibilities for Maxam's European business.
