Bridgestone/Firestone (BFS) Inc. Chairman, CEO and President John Lampe has been nominated to the Bridgestone Corp. board of directors.
If shareholders approve the decision, Lampe will be the first American and non-Japanese official to join the company's top decision-making group.
Lampe, who has held a variety of high-level positions with BFS since starting with the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in 1973, replaced Masatoshi Ono as BFS head last fall.
