Auto Care Association Names Hailey Ray to Lead Political Affairs

Oct. 26, 2018

Hailey Ray is the new director of political affairs for the Auto Care Association.

In her new role in the government affairs department, Ray will lead the association’s political action committee, “ACPAC.” ACPAC is the only bipartisan fund that seeks to elect and re-elect officials who work to advance, promote and preserve a vibrant auto care industry.

The Auto Care Association says Ray will be responsible for designing and administering an aggressive campaign to raise money for the association’s political action committee in addition to coordinating political contributions and producing association-hosted political events.

The role will task Ray with developing and implementing multi-year fundraising, marketing and communications plans focused on retaining and increasing contributions from current donors and expanding the number of donors to the PAC. Ray will also be responsible for working with the association’s government affairs staff to coordinate contributions to political action committees as well attendance at fundraisers and partnering with congressional political finance teams to produce association hosted political events.

Ray most recently served as the PAC director for the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), where she oversaw a $3 million PAC program, counseled lobbyists on political climate and how best to spend funds, planned events and meetings at multiple conferences along with separate quarterly events to raise additional dollars and increase the profile of NMHC.

Prior to working for NMHC, Ray was the government affairs and PAC manager for the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), where she fundraised and implemented strategies for a $1.5 million PAC program. During her time at NCPA, Ray worked with the association to identify members of Congress to receive PAC funds, educated members of Congress and their staff about the association’s goals and priorities and coordinated Hill events for staff and membership.

Ray also brings with her nearly a decade of experience working in politics—from campaigning and fundraising, to interning and working on Capitol Hill for elected members of Congress.

Ray is a graduate of the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., where she received a bachelor of arts degree in politics and a minor in English.
