Discount Tire Enters the South Dakota Market

Discount Tire has expanded to 35 states and 1,007 stores with the opening of its first outlet in South Dakota.

The new location in Sioux Falls brings the number of Discount Tire stores to 1,007.

The company opened its milestone 1,000th store on Sept. 10 in Phoenix, Ariz. Discount Tire has added seven outlets since Sept. 10. In addition to the Sioux Falls location, the new stores are in:

  • Evans, Ga.;
  • Grand Rapids, Mich.;
  • Cartersville, Ga.;
  • Tyler, Texas;
  • Michigan City, Ind.; and
  • El Paso, Texas.

The company says it plans to expand into Pennsylvania in 2019 as well as add stores in states it already serves. Since 2013, Discount Tire has opened stores in 11 additional states.

The company’s newest store is located at 4201 E. 10th Street in Sioux Falls.

Founded in 1960 by Bruce Halle, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Reinalt-Thomas Corp. does business under the trade name Discount Tire in most of the U.S., America’s Tire in parts of California and as Discount Tire Direct online. The company employs more than 20,000 people. Discount Tire holds the top spot on the Modern Tire Dealer 100.

Discount Tire is as a primary sponsor of the No. 2 Ford Fusion driven by Brad Keselowski in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The company also sponsors the NASCAR XFinity Series and Monster Energy AMA Supercross.
