Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd. has added a line of rugged terrain tires with a dual sidewall design to the Renegade family. Functionally, the new Renegade Rugged RT+ falls between the company’s all-terrain and mud terrain lines.
The company says a demand among customers for a combination of exceptional off-road performance, coupled with on-road comfort and handling led to the introduction of the Renegade Rugged RT+.
The Renegade Rugged RT+. is designed to meet the needs of the driver who demands superior handling with a quiet and smooth ride on road, while having exceptional off-road capabilities to go anywhere that a pure mud terrain tire can.
The Renegade Rugged RT+. is a combination of rugged and aggressive looks with great on/off-road performance, according to Omni United. Features include computer optimized tread blocks with multiple lateral grooves and angled sipes which ensure superb traction on all terrains. The reinforced carcass construction reduces the risk of punctures and gives drivers sure-footed handling on all surfaces.
Wide center tread blocks help balance the weight distribution for stability and ensure the tread wears evenly. Stone ejectors reduce the lodging and drilling of stones in the tread.
In addition to offering on/off road performance, the RT+ offers rugged and aggressive looks. It features a dual sidewall design. The “Outlaw” side features skull and piston images and wedge-shaped side biters. The “Mud Penetrating" side has dagger-shaped side biters that offer added traction and sidewall protection.
“Based on customer demand and market trends, we have seen an increased need for a Rugged Terrain tire to add to the offering in our Renegade family,” says Scott Rhodes, vice president of sales for North America.
The Renegade RT+ will comprise of F-load rated sizes which have been developed to meet the needs of the newest heavy duty models of light trucks in North America. These higher load rated sizes are able to carry heavier loads at higher inflation pressure (80 psi) compared to tires of the same size with an E-rated load range. The company says they have seen the demand in the market for these higher load carrying capacity sizes and have aimed to address that demand within their Renegade lines.

“Our Renegade lines now comprise of multiple sizes under the all terrain, mud terrain and rugged terrain ranges, that dealers can order to serve the varied needs of their customers.”
The Renegade RT+ range will comprise of over 50 sizes, out of which 17 sizes are available now and an additional 33 sizes are planned to be released in phases by early 2019. This range will have sizes ranging from 15-inch to 24-inch rim diameters.
