Maxam Tire North America Inc. has tripled the size of its West Coast distribution center, and the company plans to launch eight new product lines in the next year. With its growth in the U.S. market, Jimmy McDonnell, vice president of sales and marketing for Maxam, says, "we needed to address our distribution platform capabilities, starting on the West Coast.”
The West Coast Distribution Center and Product Training Center is located in Los Angeles and spans approximately 120,000 square feet, and gives the company more than 300,000 square feet of distribution space in the U.S. The new facility will support and supply the complete range of Maxam products, including distribution of the Maxam Giant OTR program ranging from 49-inch to 63-inch bead diameter and pressing capabilities for the Maxam Solid OTR program.
The warehouse features an advanced management system to increase accuracy, capacity and efficiency; it's also home to the Product Training Center for Maxam's North American operations. Both facilities will "play a major role in supporting the continued growth and expansion at Maxam Tire," the company says.
The company also has a facility in Memphis to serve East Coast customers.
