Solid vs. Flashing: ATEQ Sheds Light on TPMS Display

May 16, 2018

What is the difference between a solid tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) light and a flashing TPMS light? The two-part short answer is hardly enlightening.

* "Solid" indicates one or more of the tires on the vehicle are at least 25% below the recommended pressure.

* "Flashing" indicates there is a malfunction in the TPMS system.

However, the complete answer is more complicated. There are many situations that can cause a TPMS warning light to come on or flash.

The following new educational video from ATEQ TPMS Tools LC goes into more detail to explain the differences.
