Mountain View Tire expands

Feb. 1, 2001

Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based Mountain View Tire & Service Inc. recently acquired Tustin Tire, a single-store, 10-year-old Goodyear dealership in Tustin, Calif., an Anaheim suburb.

"It's a high-volume store," says Chris Mitsos, Mountain View vice president.

Last month, Mountain View opened a new store in Las Vegas, Nev., under the Superior Tire name. The 10-bay, nine-employee shop sells both Goodyear and Cordovan brand passenger and light truck tires. Superior Tire, which has 14 outlets in the Las Vegas area, is a joint venture between Mountain View, TBC Corp. and the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. "Mountain View runs Superior's day-to-day operations," Mitsos says.

With 37 total outlets and more than $38 million in annual sales, Mountain View is the 27th largest independent tire dealership in North America.
