Hankook Is Ready to Play Ball as Official Tire of MLB

March 29, 2018

Major League Baseball (MLB) has a new Official Tire — Hankook Tire America Corp.

The tire company and MLB have entered into a multi-year agreement where the Hankook brand will be visible across baseball's digital platforms, including the MLB Network, MLB.com and social media channels, as well as the All-Star Game and postseason. The partnership makes Hankook the Official Tire of the MLB in both the U.S. and Korea.

Additionally, the tire maker says it will create its own marketing campaign, utilizing the MLB brand, in marketing activities, giveaways, consumer promotions and events. Hankook also will create virtual advertisements behind home plate in national broadcasts during the postseason, including the League Championship Series and World Series.

“Hankook Tire brings a real passion for baseball and a comprehensive vision to their marketing around our league, teams, and players in the U.S. and beyond,” says Noah Garden, executive vice president of commerce for MLB. “As MLB continues to grow our international activities and events, Hankook Tire demonstrates a new model for MLB partners to be able to achieve their goals of reaching millions of baseball fans not only in the U.S. but around the world.”

“Hankook Tire is proud to serve as the official tire of Major League Baseball,” says Hankook Tire America Corp. President Hosung Suh. “As Hankook Tire rapidly grows its presence in the American market, we are honored to connect with America’s favorite tradition — the dynamic game of baseball.”

Hankook has assumed the role of Official Tire of the MLB from Falken Tire Corp., which was the official tire for the past two seasons.
