New Uniroyal Tiger Paw UHP and Laredo AWT Have Longer Mileage Warranties

March 15, 2018

Michelin North America Inc. has added the ultra-high-performance Tiger Paw GTZ All-Season 2 and the all-terrain Laredo AWT 3 to the Uniroyal brand.

The company says both tires offer improved mileage warranties compared to the prior models they replace.

Tiger Paw GTZ All-Season 2

The Tiger Paw GTZ All-Season 2 will have 10 more sizes than its predecessor, covering 82% of the ultra-high-performance market. The 42 sizes in the range will be available in rim diameters from 16 to 20 inches.

Michelin says the Tiger Paw GTZ All-Season 2 offers the following technologies for everyday driving confidence:

Uniroyal’s Tru-Last technology, which is designed to distribute stress evenly across the tire footprint for consistent wear;

wide circumferential tread grooves which help provide better performance in rain; traction snow bars that are designed to compact loose snow for outstanding starting and stopping; and

new all-season rubber compound, which helps with wet traction

The tire also features an upgraded speed rating on select sizes. Previously a W rating for all sizes, the new tire offers a Y speed rating on certain sizes for high-performance sports cars capable of speeds up to 186 mph. To give consumers more confidence with the Tiger Paw GTZ All-Season 2, the tire features a 50,000-mile warranty, including fitments with a Y speed rating.

“The Tiger Paw GTZ All-Season 2 represents an unprecedented combination of performance and value offered by the Uniroyal brand,” says Alonso Tiscareno, brand director for Uniroyal.

“The increased speed rating, warranty and range of available sizes on our next-generation ultra-high-performance tire will reach an underserved segment of performance drivers.”

Laredo AWT 3

The Laredo AWT 3 brings Uniroyal consumers an affordable all-terrain tire that delivers outstanding performance on- and off-road, according to Michelin. The tire provides dependable all-terrain traction at a reasonable price, and is backed by a 50,000-mile warranty.

“The Laredo AWT 3 demonstrates Uniroyal’s commitment to increase all-terrain tire offerings, says Tiscareno. “We want to offer a tire that performs on- and off-road and delivers the Uniroyal value our consumers expect.”
