Prometeon Reorganizes Global Team

Feb. 14, 2018

Prometeon Tyre Group is moving ahead with plans to integrate with Aeolus Tyre Co. Ltd., and also is working to strengthen its presence in some markets. As a result, the former Pirelli industrial tire unit is reorganizing.

Prometeon announced these global leadership changes. The appointees will report directly to Prometeon Chairman and CEO Giorgio Luca Bruno.  Murat Akyildiz, Chief Commercial Officer: All entities related to sales — including sales, marketing, original equipment, agro business and supply chain — will report to Akyildiz, who has been with the company for more than two years.

Akyildiz has held various positions including CEO of Region MEA, Turkey and India; CEO of Region EMEA and recently CEO of Greater Europe (Europe, Turkey, Russia and C.I.S). He previously held various positions with the P&G Group for over 20 years, including that of managing director of global distributors and travel retail for P&G Prestige.

Alexandre Bregantim, Chief Technical Officer: Bregantim oversees operational functions related to research and development, production and product quality report.

Bregantim has been chief research and development and quality officer for Prometeon since 2016 and has more than 20 years of experience with Pirelli & Cie SpA in the fields of research and development, manufacturing and quality in Brazil and China.  Murilo Fonseca, CEO of the Americas: Fonseca previously served as chief operating officer and chief of the commercial office in LATAM for Prometeon.

He spent more than 20 years at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., eventually taking on the role of sales operations general manager in Latin America. He subsequently spent two years leading SKF sales and marketing in the region before joining Pirelli Tyre Industrial business.

Alp Gunvaran, CEO of Region MEA, Turkey, Russia & CIS: Gunvaran joined Prometeon in September 2016, and previously served as the CEO of Turkey, East Europe, Russia & CIS.

Gunvaran has more than 16 years of experience in P&G, where he held roles of increasing responsibility until becoming commercial director for the household care business for Turkey and the Caucasus.  Marco Solari, CEO of Europe: Solari is the former global sales director and managing director of Italy, France, Spain, Nordics and Benelux.

Solari has many years of commercial experience with Pirelli as commercial director of the truck business in Europe, MEA and APAC, and as chief commercial officer APAC for all Pirelli businesses.

Yves Pouliquen, CEO of the APAC & India Region: Pouliquen has held this position with Prometeon since 2016. Pouliquen is well acquainted with the Asian market, where he previously held the positions of Asia-Pacific business sales development manager, managing director Malaysia and commercial director APAC for Michelin Group.

These regional managers also report to the chief commercial officer and the chief technical officer as their duties require.

Prometeon says its shareholders have a strategic interest in continuining the integration with Aeolus, despite the fact that in January it was announced that Prometeon's integration with the industrial tire-producing entities of CNRC (the tire and rubber subsidiary of ChemChina Group), including Aeolus, had been "interrupted" because the companies hadn't been able to acquire the necessary authorizations before the contractual deadline of Dec. 31, 2017.

In January TP Industrial Holding, which owns 52% of Prometeon, confirmed its "strategic interest to pursue the integration of Prometeon and Aeolus which is already in progress, in the technological and commercial areas. In the field, joint teams are already working on commercial and operational activities. The integration process will continue in an appropriate time-frame in accordance with the law and regulations."
