OE Partnerships Will Help Hankook 'Become a Top-Tier Brand'

Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. plans to continue expanding its original equipment relationships to include some of the nation’s leading automotive brands.

After securing OE partnerships with two of the top-selling sedans on the market, the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry, last year, Hankook partnered with Ford Motor Co. to produce an all-season fitment for the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. The Navigator will be available with Hankook Dynapro HT RH12 tires, in size 285/45R22.

Hankook is looking to pursue more OE opportunities in 2018. "We are excited for automakers and consumers to experience the exceptional quality of our products that are being produced in America for American consumers,” says Eric Shirley, director of sales for Hankook Tire America Corp.’s OE Division.

Hankook says strong OE partnerships and the opening of its first North American manufacturing facility late last year will help Hankook become a top-tier brand among American consumers.

The company adds it "is discussing opportunities with several top-tier U.S. auto manufacturers" to become the OE supplier to a handful of popular 2019 models.

Hankook recently began distribution of its first sound-absorbing “silent foam” tire in North America. The tire, OE on the 2018 Nissan Rogue SV, is designed to reduce road noise and enhance the driving experience "through a special noise-absorbing polyurethane foam inlay sheet that is applied to the inside of the tire."
