High-resolution versions of the new OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) truck tire charts have been posted on the agency’s website.
The charts, which need to be displayed by commercial dealers in every service area, including mobile service trucks, also are posted on the Tire Industry Association (TIA) website, www.tireindustry.org.
In order to maintain compliance with OSHA, the charts must be at least two feet by 3 feet; the original files did not reproduce clearly at the larger size, according to Kevin Rohlwing, TIA's senior vice president of training.
“We were informed by several members that the images on the charts were not clear when they were enlarged, so we immediately alerted OSHA and requested high-resolution files,” says Rohlwing. “Within 24 hours they had the new files on the website.
"TIA has developed an excellent working relationship with OSHA, and this is a prime example of how we are working together to help protect workers who service truck tires and wheels.”
