Desser inks tire deal with aircraft manufacturer

Desser Tire & Rubber Co. Inc. has been awarded a prime contract by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. for warehousing and “in time” supply of aircraft tires and tubes used in OEM production and by the United States military.

The two-year agreement, valued at more than $1 million per year, encompasses supply of Desser OEM branded products as well as Dunlop and Goodyear aircraft tires. General Atomics Aeronautical produces state-of-the-art unmanned aircraft, including the Altus, Gnat, Gray Eagle and Predator for defense and technical studies.

“We have been supplying General Atomics for over a decade," says President, Steven Chlavin.

"This contract compliments our existing portfolio of OEM and military customers. Manufacturers such as American Champion, Aviat, Cessna, Diamond, Flight Design, Glasair, Rans, Remos, Van’s and Zenith depend on Desser for their specialized needs.”

Desser Tire and Rubber is a global independent aircraft tire manufacturer and marketer, with facilities in Los Angeles, Calif., and Memphis, Tenn. The company holds FAA and EASA approvals for high-speed aircraft tire retreading and wheel and brake services.
