Team Toyo’s Kyle LeDuc and Jeremy McGrath win in Las Vegas

Nov. 8, 2011

Team Toyo Off-Road drivers, Kyle LeDuc and Jeremy McGrath, both scored victories this past weekend during Round 13 of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Series race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Both drivers relied on Toyo Open Country M/T-R tires to help them win the top spot in their class, Pro 4 Unlimited and Pro 2 Unlimited respectively.

During Friday’s qualifying session, Kyle LeDuc once again showed his remarkable speed by qualifying in the number one spot with his No. 99 Rockstar / Makita / Toyo Tires Ford F-150 in the Pro 4 Unlimited class.  He immediately jumped into his No. 99 Rockstar / Makita / Toyo Tires Ford Ranger equipped with off-the-shelf Toyo Open Country M/T tires to qualify second fastest in the Pro Lite Unlimited class.

Pro 4 Unlimited was the first pro main event during Saturday’s Round 13.  Kyle LeDuc defeated 10 trucks on the 1.1-mile dirt course for the race win.  On Sunday in Round 14, Kyle finished second while his brother, Todd LeDuc, placed third with his No. 4 Rockstar / Makita / Toyo Tires Ford F-150.

“Vegas was a tough layout with very difficult dirt,” said Kyle LeDuc.  “Toyo Tires and their knowledge helped me perform at my top level, and that level was fast enough to take both poles in Pro 4 and a win on Saturday and a second on Sunday. That's five wins this year for the Pro 4 Unlimited division.”

When the green flag dropped for the Pro 2 Unlimited race on Saturday, Jeremy McGrath was on the pole and retained the lead with his No. 2 Monster Energy / Ready LIFT / Toyo Tires Ford truck.  McGrath was unbeatable throughout the race, even with the intense competition from the 17-truck field.  At the end of the race, McGrath stood on top of the podium for the victory.  McGrath’s win on Saturday represents his fifth trip to the podium this season, having finished second three times in addition to a third place trophy.

“After coming so close this season, it feels really good to bring home the win… it was a huge team effort,” said McGrath.  “The truck ran flawlessly and the track was perfectly suited for my Toyo tires. It was an awesome day!”

“Congratulations to Kyle LeDuc for scoring his fifth victory this season, and to Jeremy McGrath for his first win and fifth podium,” said Stan Chen, manager of events and motorsports, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.  “It was an outstanding weekend for our Team Toyo drivers, proving that our Open Country M/T-R tires deliver wins at the top level of competition.”
