Continental AG, parent company of Continental Tire the Americas LLC, is recruiting talent. The company has significantly increased the recruitment of junior staff in this year, and expects to have hired 5,500 graduates and young professionals worldwide by year-end.

Continental says the effort is part of ongoing efforts to invest in fresh knowledge and new ideas. This is in order to increase its innovative prowess with highly qualified junior staff.

“In addition to investments in technology and future markets, investing in highly qualified junior staff is, of course, extremely important. No employees means no business – and vice versa,” says Heinz-Gerhard Wente, Continental’s executive board member for Human Resources. “Worldwide, we expect to hire around 5,500 additional employees with up to five years’ professional experience this year.”

The international automotive supplier is hiring mainly engineers and natural scientists, but also qualified professionals in economics, law and the humanities. Continental employs 30,000 engineers in the areas of production and R&D. Of the close to 5,500 new recruits worldwide, 4,000 will fill engineering jobs and 1,500 commercial positions.
