JMK brings dealer and customer together w/app

Aug. 14, 2011

Does JMK Computerized Tire Dealer Information System Inc. have an app for you. And it's free.

The smartphone app, designated J-Match, uses 2d "Quick Read" bar code technology to strengthen the relationship between the customer and the dealership, according to Jim Krakower, director of system development. "This customer/dealership bond encourages loyalty in a market fragmented by significant duplicity of purchase opportunity."

As part of the J-Match app, the classic "oil sticker" attached to the vehicle's windshield contains a registered 2d "Quick Read" bar code. Users can then use their smartphones to scan that code to:

* see a listing of past service,

* make an appointment for future service,

* get advice of when future service is needed, or

* call the dealership directly.

Dealers also can send text messages to a customer's smart phone to advise when the vehicle is ready for service, based on  past driving patterns. And they can simply scan the window sticker to immediately set up a work/estimate order when the vehicle arrives for service without an appointment.

This feature is simple to use for both the customer and the dealership, offered at no cost as part of a suite of features in the JMK system's optional bar code processing module.

"It will cement the relationship and lock the user into repeat vehicle services," adds Krakower.
