"People get very confused with the term 'entreprenuer,'" says Roger McManus, editor of "Entrepreneurial Insanity in the Tire Industry."

"All too often, the term is associated with investment and risk.

"While those elements are part of it, the key to entrepreneurism is being able to grow the business, not just run the business. All too often, the owner of a tire shop is his or her own best employee.

"This is usually not the best use of the owner's time."

In his latest article for Modern Tire Dealer, McManus talks about the importance of updating your original business plan. His "Business Insight" story appears in our June issue (to read the article online, click here).

In future articles, he will make the distinction between growing a business and running a business even clearer. You can contact McManus directly at roger@ensanitypress.com.
