David Jones, senior vice president of sales for Tireco Inc., died in California on May 21, 2011. He was 58.
Jones joined Tireco in 1982 as general manager when the company sold primarily specialty products. As vice president and then vice president of sales, he helped the Compton, Calif.-based company grow to become one of the nation’s largest importers and private brand marketers of tires and tire-related products.
"He was a well respected industry veteran known for his good natured humor and genuine personality, and he is credited with creating Tireco’s culture which is centered on service and relationships," said the company in a statement.
Jones is survived by his wife, Lanett; their three sons, Jason, Josh, and Justin and daughter-in-law, Diana; and grandson, Ethan.
