Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. says it will establish a sales company for "multiple business" (MB) products such as hoses, adhesives and conveyer belts on May 1, 2011.
Shanghai Yokohama Rubber Products Sales Co. Ltd. will be based in Shanghai City, China. The business will be capitalized for $750,000 by Yokohama Rubber (China) Co. Ltd. The new company will employ 11 people.
Yokohama's goal is to surpass 10 billion yen in MB product sales in 2014 or after three years. In 2010, the company recorded MB product sales of approximately three billion yen in China.
Yokohama's other MB product sales company, Yokohama Industrial Products Europe GmbH, was established in April 2009 in Germany.
