Tire repair in Japan is critical at this moment, says 31 Inc.

March 17, 2011

31 Inc., makers of Xtra Seal tire repairs, is donating 4,500 “Emergency Tire Repair Kits” to the relief efforts in Japan following the natural disasters that hit the country on March 11.

The company is air-freighting 1,500 “Emergency Tire Repair Kits” and ocean shipping another 3,000 “so that the first responders, police and ambulances can continue to help those stricken by the natural disaster,” says Bob Hendry, vice president of sales and marketing.

“We’ve always known that following earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes and tsunamis, there is a desperate need for emergency tire repairs because of all the debris that ends up in the streets. These kits do the job on a temporary basis until the tires can be permanently fixed."

31 Inc., based in Newcomerstown, Ohio, is one of a growing list of companies in the tire industry giving aid to the Japanese people. Both Bridgestone Americas Inc. and Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. also have made substantial donations to the cause (see “Bridgestone Americas donates to relief efforts”).
