Tyrexpo Asia breaks exhibitor record

Feb. 16, 2011

Tyrexpo Asia’11 is reporting a 20 percent increase in exhibitors over two years ago, with 160 exhibitors from 53 countries, taking place March 29-31 at the Singapore Expo Centre, which is the highest number of  exhibitors in the event’s 15-year history.

“In 2009 the market was cautious and uncertain as a result of the global financial crisis. But two years later we are looking at the greatest number of companies that have ever been involved in the event,” says Rowena Suthers, sales director for event organizer ECI International.
The eighth staging of Tyrexpo Asia in Singapore will be opened by Dr Stephen Evans, secretary general of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), a Singapore-based source of statistical data and analysis for the rubber industry.
Host country Singapore will be represented by local companies including Stamford Tyres, Omni, Mindtrac, Newera Equipment, YHI and Belshina Asia, the regional arm of the Russian tire manufacturer.
ECI says China is the largest single exhibiting nation as part of its continued drive for export sales, particularly in the OTR and heavy industrial tire sectors. Companies from India include BKT, CEAT, Elgi Rubber, Malhotra Rubber, Midas Precured Treads, Speedways and Superking.
