Charger, Challenger now feature Firehawk GTs

Feb. 14, 2011

A specially designed and engineered Firestone-brand Firehawk GT tire from Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations (BATO) is now optional original equipment on 2011 Dodge Chargers and Challengers. BATO will supply the new models in size 245/45R20 99V.

“The Charger and Challenger are icons of motorsport culture, known for their incredible performances both on the road and on the silver screen” says Michael Martini, BATO’s president, Original Equipment, U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division. “The Firestone brand has its own iconic status when it comes to on-road performances in America and linking these brands together is very exciting for us. In pairing the Firestone Firehawk GT’s sporty performance and all season capability with these all-new muscle cars, we may have several new motorsport legends in the making.”

The Firestone-brand Firehawk GT tires are included as original equipment on the all-new 2011 Dodge Charger with R/T Plus, R/T Road & Track, R/T Max packages and Wheels & Tunes and Rallye Appearance Groups. The same Firehawk GTs are offered as original equipment on the new 2011 Dodge Challenger SE with the all-new Super Sport Group and available on the Challenger R/T models.

The Firestone Firehawk GT is a V-speed rated, all-season performance tire engineered with the company’s UNI-T technology that delivers performance attributes such as all-season traction capability. It also features a technology called Veri-Pitch that minimizes pattern and road noises often found in performance tires.
