API's truck tire program on a roll

Dec. 17, 2008

American Pacific Industries Inc.'s (API) medium truck tire program is on a roll. The company plans to import nearly 800,000 truck tires in 2009.

API CEO Jeff Kreitzman discusses his firm's truck tire plans in the December 2008 issue of Modern Tire Dealer, available now.

"We're in the process of moving into wide-base tires and also some specialty sizes and designs. We're in the process of developing a true front-end long-haul tire."

API recently rolled out the latest product in its Gladiator line of medium truck tires, the Gladiator QR35-TR. The tire is designed for trailer use and comes in four sizes: 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 295/75R22.5 and 285/75R24.5.

"This year has been one of our better years," said Kreitzman. "This year we should end up at around 550,000 (Gladiator truck tire) units."
