CGS Tyres expands in France

Jan. 25, 2011

Copadex and CGS Tyres have announced that the companies have entered into an agreement where Copadex will cede exclusivity in distributing CGS-produced Continental agricultural tires in France. CGS Tyres now sells all its brands in France, namely Mitas, Cultor and Continental (produced under licence).

This consolidation was preceded by an announcement made in September about CGS Tyres acquiring distribution rights for Mitas tires from L’Européenne de pneumatiques. Copadex will continue to sell Continental tires.

“This change opens sales opportunities for Copadex and CGS Tyres,” said Andrew Mabin, marketing and sales director for CGS Tyres. “In 2004, CGS bought the Continental agricultural tire division, and with it CGS inherited a sales network that is now being optimized. Copadex will remain the key dealer of CGS Tyres in France.”

In the French agricultural tire replacement market, half of CGS Tyres sales are currently in the Mitas brand and half in Continental-brand tires.

In other CGS news, AGCO has awarded its highest supplier rating to CGS Tyres for deliveries from January to December 2010. CGS Tyres’ brand, Continental, is mounted to AGCO’s Fendt 200 Vario – 900 Vario tractor series.

In order to improve products, AGCO evaluates its suppliers’ quality, logistics, customer service and protection of the environment, in all of which CGS Tyres received the highest grade. In quality, a rating of A means that 99.9 percent or more of delivered units were without fault. CGS Tyres has received the A award annually since 1999.
