Belle Tire Distributors opened its 75th retail-only store earlier this month. It is located in Okemos, Mich., just a few miles off the campus of Michigan State University.
"This is our third location in the greater Lansing (Mich.) market, says Vice President Jeff Kruse. "This store is our typical 10-bay configuration, 10,000 square feet with tire storage capacity of 3,000 units."
The store is run by Manager Fred Nixon and two assistants, Connor Tracy and J.D. Larner. There are a total of 12 employees, including three ASE-certified technicians and six tire techs.
"We have four building sites secured for 2011, and intend to construct and open four additional new stores this year," adds Kruse.
Belle Tire also has three commercial-only outlets and three combination commercial/retail outlets. It sells Toyo, American (a private brand marketed by American Car Care Centers Inc.), BFGoodrich, Bridgestone, Continental, Goodyear, Michelin and Sumitomo brand tires.
