Michelin eliminates communications position

Michelin North America Inc. has downsized its communications department.

"As part of our commitment to continually evaluate the efficiency of our communications organization under the Call to Action initiative, the post of manager, communications operations and measurement will be eliminated as of Jan. 1, 2004," says the company.

"This decision was taken only after serious consideration and conclusion that the functions of the position should be redistributed among the rest of the team to optimize efficiency and effectiveness."

Details of the redistribution of responsibilities are still being finalized.

Concurrent with the change, Kondria Woods, former manager of communications operations and measurement, will leave the company as of Dec. 31, 2003. Woods has been part of the Michelin communications department for three years.
