Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions (BBTS) will lay off 60 employees in response to lower demand for truck tires and retreads.
The decisions are part of BBTS' "ongoing efforts to integrate and streamline its business in order to offer its customers one truck and retread tire business unit."
In related news, BBTS' finance and marketing teams have been asked to relocate from Bridgestone North American Tire LLC headquarters in Nashville, Tenn., to BBTS offices in Muscatine, Iowa.
In addition, BBTS will close its Oncor retread facility on Jan. 31, 2009, which will result in the elimination of 21 jobs.
