Novotny to lead Goodyear global engineering/technology

Dec. 1, 2003

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has promoted Robert A. Novotny to vice president, global engineering and manufacturing technology.

Novotny will report to Joe Gingo, Goodyear executive vice president, quality systems and chief technical officer, and Chris Clark, senior vice president, global sourcing.

"His extensive experience in engineering and manufacturing leadership will be a considerable asset as he manages our global process engineering, manufacturing technology and engineering business standards functions," says Gingo.

Novotny replaces Ernest Rodia, who is retiring from Goodyear after 37 years with the company.

Since 2000, Novotny had been director of global plant engineering and capital projects at Goodyear's Akron, Ohio, headquarters.
