Financial magazine honors Goodyear's Wells

Nov. 14, 2003

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Darren Wells has been recognized by Treasury & Risk Management magazine as one of the nation's top finance executives under the age of 40.

As vice president and treasurer, Wells is responsible for Goodyear's financial risk management, treasury policy, and the company's relationships with the banking community. A Goodyear spokesman says he was one of the key participants in renegotiating the company's credit agreements in early 2003.

The magazine's editors recognized the 37-year-old Wells in its recent "40 Under 40" feature article, describing him among a group of executives who are "standouts who will be carving out the future of finance."

Complete coverage of the 2003 "40 Under 40" can be found in the November issue of the magazine or online at www.treasuryandrisk.com.

Before joining Goodyear in August 2002, Wells was assistant treasurer of Visteon Corp for two years, and led the development of its treasury operation as it was spun off from Ford Motor Co.

Earlier, Wells worked in Ford's Australian operations and held various finance positions at Ford Motor Credit, where he was hired in 1989 as a financial analyst.
