Chabill's Tire adds store

June 19, 2003

Morgan City, La.-based Chabill's Tire Service has broken ground on its new store, a 10,000-square-foot facility in Lafayette, La.

The retail outlet will contain 10 bays: four for tire service and six for automotive service.

Chabill's Tire owner Charley Gowland says he hopes to open the store by the end of the year.

"It's right next to a Wal-Mart. I want their Christmas traffic."

The new facility will bring Chabill's total number of stores up to 11.

The dealership -- which sells Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal and Cooper brand tires -- achieved more than $9 million in sales last year, according to Gowland.
