Foudy continues relationship with Uniroyal youth soccer program

June 5, 2003

Olympic gold medal winner Julie Foudy, a member of the United States Women’s National soccer team and spokesperson for the Uniroyal brand for the last three years, has re-signed with Michelin North America Inc. for another year. She will continue to represent the company’s youth soccer initiatives.

"Julie is a role model for so many kids, not to mention an outstanding professional athlete," says Tim Jamison, Uniroyal brand director. "We are extremely proud to have Julie representing Uniroyal and look forward to continuing to foster growth in youth soccer."

Captain of both the WUSA’s San Diego Spirit and U.S. Women’s National Team, Foudy primarily will help generate public awareness and support of TOPSoccer, a national outreach program that helps children with disabilities play the game of soccer.

Launched in 2000, the Uniroyal youth soccer program involves several comprehensive initiatives at the national and local levels.

In addition to the TOPSoccer program, Michelin and its Uniroyal dealers have supported more than 1,000 youth soccer leagues and clubs across America through equipment donations and fundraisers. To date, more than $3.5 million has been donated to soccer organizations.

According to Michelin, Foudy has helped Uniroyal generate 150 million consumer impressions for the TOPSoccer program.
