Bridgestone Turanza EL42 tires have been selected original equipment on the 2004 Saturn VUE Red Line sport-utility vehicle.
The limited edition specialty vehicle, which debuted recently at the New York Auto Show, is aimed at the sport compact tuner market.
The Turanza EL42 is an all-season, touring-style radial that combines the appearance and handling of a performance tire with the smooth, quiet ride of a standard tire.
Bridgestone will supply Saturn with the V-rated Turanza EL42 in size 245/50R18.
"The sport compact market is one of the fastest-growing segments of the automotive industry," says Michael Martini, vice president, North American consumer tire original equipment sales for Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC.
The 2004 Saturn VUE Red Line features a lowered body and performance-tuned suspension and steering. It also has a 250-horsepower, V-6 engine and five-speed automatic transmission.
Production on the SUV is scheduled to begin around the first of next year.
