Michelin North America Inc. is adding sizes to its BFGoodrich g-Force tire lines.

The company is adding five sport compact car sizes to its g-Force T/A KDW line. The new sizes are: 215/45ZR17, 225/45ZR17, 245/40ZR18, 215/35ZR18 and 235/35ZR19.

Sport-utility vehicle sizes also are being added. They include a P325/55R22 for the Hummer H2, as well as a selection of 18-, 20-, 22- and 23-inch dimensions.

By year-end, the g-Force T/AKDW line will total more than 40 sizes. The tire features a silica-reinforced tread compound, which provides

exceptional grip in both wet and dry conditions, according to the company. A unidirectional tread design; deep, wide grooves; and large block elements contribute to the tire's traction and handling.

Michelin also has added six 18-inch sizes

to its g-Force T/AO Drag Radial line. The new sizes are: P245/40R18, P265/40R18, P275/35R18, P295/35R18, P315/30R18 and P345/30R18.

The new sizes give the g-Force T/A Drag Radial

lineup 13 dimensions, ranging from 14 inches to 18 inches.

"Our goal in developing the g-Force T/A Drag Radial line was to offer enthusiasts a competitive tire that was also comfortable to drive to and from the drag strip," says Ans Adam Murphy, performance marketing manager for

BFGoodrich tires. "The six new 18-inch sizes are designed to meet the needs of the tuner and sport compact markets."

The g-Force T/AO Drag Radial features a proprietary compound and massive tread blocks designed to resist distortion, squirm and chunking under high-torque loads for maximized traction.

Two full-width steel belts stiffen the crown to resist distortion under acceleration, and reinforce the tread area to resist punctures.
