Maxxis prepares to introduce Creepy Crawler to dealers

Feb. 26, 2003

Maxxis International-USA will unveil its Creepy Crawler rock-climbing tire in the third quarter. The company first announced plans for the tire at the November International Tire Expo in Las Vegas, Nev.

The M-8090, otherwise known as the Creepy Crawler, is armored by a rugged, square-profile sidewall and aggressive tread pattern. It's developed for durability and claw-like traction on uneven terrain, according to Maxxis.

A specially created compound and lug design help prevent chunking, while staggered groove patterns and shoulder lugs minimize sideway slippage. The Creepy Crawler’s unique horizontal siping maximizes traction in all weather conditions, adds the company.

The DOT-certified bias tire will be available in the following sizes:

* 33-inch: 33x12.50-15, 33x12.50-16.

* 35-inch: 35x12.50-15, 35x12.50-16.

* 37-inch: 37x12.50-15, 37x12.50-16, 37x14.50-15, 37x14.50-16.

* 38-inch: 38.5x14.50-15, 38.5X14.50-16.

"The level of interest the Creepy Crawler is generating is exciting," says Marketing Manager Michael McGunagle. "It’s nothing short of the largest and most aggressive off-road tire we’ve developed."
