Kumho Tire Co. has been named the official tire supplier for the Formula 3 Euro Series. It will supply its ECSTA Formula 3 tires for pre-season testing and all 20 regular season races.

The Formula 3 Euro Series is the result of a merger between the German and French national Formula 3 championships. It is expected to draw close to 30 entrants at each event; races will be held at some of Europe’s most prestigious tracks, including Hockenheim and the Nürburgring in Germany, Le Mans and Magny-Cours in France, the A1 Ring in Austria and Circuit Park Zandvoort in The Netherlands.

The Formula 3 Euro Series races will run as support events for the DTM (German touring car) and FFSA Super (French touring car) series, both of which attract large spectator audiences and are broadcast on European television.

"This agreement with the Formula 3 Euro Series expands Kumho’s role as a major player in international motorsports," says Rick Brennan, high performance brand manager for Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. "Formula 3 is the last stop on the ladder before Formula One, so it’s a great environment in which to demonstrate Kumho’s technical abilities and another opportunity for us to use racing to improve our ultra-high performance road tires."
