Special events at World Tire Expo offer networking opportunities

Jan. 28, 2003

Three special events are planned for the World Tire Expo to be held March 26-29, 2003, at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, Ky.

The show, dedicated to the commercial tire, tire retreading/repairing, and tire and rubber recycling markets, also will have more than two dozen workshops plus trade show exhibit hours over three days.

"Special events are a vital part of the 2003 World Tire Expo," says Tom Raben, TIA president. "The World Tire Expo is the best forum for improving profitability in our industry, and the special events represent some of the best networking opportunities anywhere."

The special events will be:

* The TIA Foundation Golf Tournament, which starts at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, at the Quail Chase Golf Club. Proceeds of the tournament go to TIA's Educational Foundation.

* The Rubber Ball, be held on Thursday, March 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Louisville Slugger Museum.

* And TIA's Industry Recognition Dinner, held on Friday, March 28, at 6:30 p.m. Three TIA awards will be presented -- the "Industry Leadership," "Pioneer" and "Friend of the Industry." Legendary Chicago Bear Mike Singletary will keynote the event with a speech about teamwork, winning attitudes and leadership. Singletary was the National Football League's 1990 "Man of the Year," and he is the creator of the successful training program he calls "A Team of Eagles."

Online registration is now available for all World Tire Expo events and housing, and registering online offers up to a 50% discount on some special events, says TIA. Go to Web site www.WorldTireExpo.org for more information.
