TIA opens nominations for industry awards

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has opened nominations for three industry awards: the Industry Leadership Award, the Pioneer Award, and the Friend of the Industry Award.

All tire industry professionals are invited to nominate candidates for the TIA awards, which will be presented at the Industry Recognition Banquet on Friday, March 28, during the World Tire Expo in Louisville, Ky.

The Industry Leadership Award is presented to individuals or companies who provide overall leadership and innovation for products and services to foster and promote the international transportation industry. Past recipients include Roy Carver of Bandag Inc., Tire Retread Information Bureau (TRIB) Managing Director Harvey Brodsky, Bob Purcell of Purcell Tire Co., Michelin North America and Continental Tire N.A.

The Pioneer Award is presented to individuals or companies who have developed or implemented products and services for the international transportation industry. Past recipients include Keith Rowbotham (Northwest Tire Dealers Association), Dr. Raymond P. Hawkinson (Paul E. Hawkinson Co.), Matteuzzi SRL and Gaither Tool Co.

The Friend of the Industry Award recognizes well-known individuals who are allies and proven supporters of the international transportation industry. Past recipients include Gloria Bartholomew (the Rubber Manufacturers Association), International Tire and Rubber Association (now TIA) Government Relations Director Roy Littlefield and Columbus McKinnon Corp.
