Yokohama rolls out new version of Advan Neova

Jan. 13, 2003

Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.'s new Advan Neova AD07 will be available in Japan starting next month.

The Neova AD07 was formally introduced at the Tokyo (Japan) Auto Salon late last week.

It represents the first model change in eight years for the Advan Neova line.

The tire will come in 25 sizes ranging from 265/35R18 93W to 175/60R14 79H.

The Neova AD07 targets sports car drivers "who care about performance," Yokohama officials said at the Auto Salon.

It contains Yokohama's MS Compound, a composite material that provides good wet and dry performance, according to Yokohama officials, plus the company's "Round Block Pattern" design and "Groove in Groove" technology.

The tire may eventually be introduced to the United States, where Yokohama brand tires have 1.5% of the replacement passenger tire market, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.

Yokohama Rubber currently enjoys 20% of the Japanese replacement tire market.
