SEMA Show, Day Three: Puncture sealant weathers cold and hot temperatures

Nov. 6, 2008

Extreme Puncture Seal was introduced by Radiator Specialty Co. at the 2008 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas. It is the latest addition to the company's line of "Puncture Seal" brand aerosol tire inflaters and sealers.

The sealant is well-suited to both cold and hot climates. It is

* freeze-resistant down to minus-40-degrees Fahrenheit;

* heat-resistant up to 120-degrees F.

Radiator Specialty Co. says Extreme Puncture Seal will not harm tire pressure monitoring system sensors. "We tested formulas on original equipment tire sensors of leading brands of vehicles on American highways," says Dr. Larry Beaver, vice president of product development.

It is available in a 16-ounce size for automobile tires (up to and including 15-inch sizes), and a 14-ounce size for smaller pneumatic tires, such as lawn and garden and all-terrain vehicle tires.

The aerosol cans include a six-inch hose for easy application through the tire valve. The hose is stored in the lid until needed.
