Continental Commercial Vehicle Tires has set a new record of one million retreads at its ContiLifeCycle facility located in Morelia, in the Mexican state of Michoacán.
The ContiLifeCycle plant, which began operations on Dec. 1, 2010, serves the markets of Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Germany, Guatemala, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain, Peru and the United States. The plant, which employs 70 people, has an installed capacity of 8,100 tons, which the company plans to increase to 9,500 tons.
Frank Seeger, national sales manager at Continental’s Commercial Vehicle Tire Division, says, “Reaching the goal of one million retreads reflects our commitment to offering our customers the highest quality, most cost-effective solutions.”
“We started operations in our plant almost five years ago,” says Arturo Cristiani, manager of Continental’s ContiLifeCycle plant in Morelia. “Since then, we have been able to successfully overcome all the challenges we have been faced with, thanks to the synergy of the best materials, technologies, processes, systems and, most notably, the excellence of our team.
